About Us
Harold Bergstrom settled in Santa Rosa in 1948 and while working
as a carpenter hanging doors at local jobsites, he realized
that the job could be done more efficiently if he didn’t
have to set up his tools and jigs at a new jobsite everyday.
So, he built a wooden door-hanging machine in 1953 and Bergy
Door Company was founded. He would pre-hang doors
in his little shop (a converted turkey shed) at night after
work and then deliver them to the jobsite in his 1946 International
Harvester truck the next day where he would install them.

His
son, Bud took over ownership in 1972 and while things have changed
a lot since then, we continue the tradition of quality workmanship
to this day.
